&lt;p&gt;If he is for real, then this is a no-brainer. If it isn&#039;t working out then you cut him and at mostyour out a pro-rated part of his already pro-rated salary. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I think you can stick Bonds in both LF and at DH. Obviously this decreases ABs for both Young and Kubel, and effectively eliminates the need for Monroe. Also I&#039;m not opposed to sitting Cuddyer and his 90 OPS+ down every once in a while too.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It would be a shame to see another team take a crack at him and then to see us finish in second behind the White Sox by 2 games. Granted those are hypothetical wins, but that is a conservative estimate and it might just be a shot in the arm that this team could use for the second half of the year!&lt;/p&gt;
