If the Twins listened to them, my only hope is that the Mariners opened with this ridiculous deal, and the Twins countered with "We keep Delmon, you give us Beltre. We're taking Washburn's retarded salary off your hands, and we don't even need a pitcher. You can have either Bonser or Humber. Don't get greedy you douche bags."

Of course the Mariners would hang up and run away, complaining all the while that the Twins wouldn't give them talent and millions of dollars while scuttling their own chances at the AL Central title.

Maybe Jarrod Washburn’s agent started this rumor- clearly, anyone from Seattle would be dying to get away from that toxic clubhouse. I can’t really see why the Twins would even be listening to offers like this, and I suspect they aren’t.

I doubt the Star Tribune is offering anyone jobs right now.

I don't think lineup protection matters as much to Manny as it does to someone like Wigginton; Manny is a better hitter than just about everyone except Pujols and maybe A-Rod, and Wigginton can't really hit right handed pitching so getting tossed into a heavily left handed lineup would probably help him a lot. Too late for that, though.

Tell me about it. Acquiring Jarrod Washburn isn’t exactly exciting. It sounded like a terrible idea last season. The Mariners will be lucky if they can give him away. He is nothing more than a salary dump, they shouldn’t expect actual talent in return.

I've heard two things mentioned on various reputable web sites in the last few minutes.

1: Both sirsean and FunBobby were offered jobs by StarTribune.com.

2: Manny Ramirez wants to come to Minnesota upon hearing about some midwestern team's batting order and being protected by two of the best left handed hitters in the game.

If rumors are going to start, let's at least have some good ones.

I figured the Strib guys wouldn’t bother with this one, given that it’s pretty obviously a pipe dream from their inferior counterpart in Seattle. Once they did, I simply had to spring into action.

I emailed sirsean about that Seattle story not once, but twice last night. Both the USS Mariner and mlbtraderumors linked to it and said it made sense for neither team. Especially the twins. He suggested we don’t write about it, but now that it seems to have grown legs, I’m glad we did. It is a dumb idea. That is all.

Um thank you, I was waiting for some common sense to come from somewhere! I knew I could count on FireGardy... Joe C has lost his collective marbles since having that kid, he just placates to the organization more than ever now, it's getting quite old. Oh yeah, let's justify trading away Young for a $11M pitcher... good job with that one!

Are we so desperate to report anything that we decide to print rumors started by Seattle about them trying to dump overpaid guys to clear salary?? Amazing...

Wigginton, we all said the same thing, if it was under $5M per year to sign him, then what's the gamble? And now someone else gets him for $3M per year... unreal.

This team just makes less sense by the day...
